An interrupted shot I decided to use anyway. Something spooked them seconds before I hit the shutter. I seldom see these with the other gulls/terns so I am unsure if they were just visiting or normally stay more to the islands and came in for the stormy squally weather we had. Another grey windy day had them lined up in formation. It was fun to watch them return filling in the rolls one by one. Since that day I haven't seen them there. Bird info: The remarkable bill of the Black Skimmer is sets it apart from all other American birds. The large red and black bill is knife-thin and the lower mandible is longer than the upper. The bird drags the lower bill through the water as it flies along, hoping to catch small fish.

Good Effort to catch this large flock of Skimmers.
I've never seen so many at one time.
Thanks for sharing Elizabeth.

What a great idea. I love the pattern. A little grainy
and resolution off a bit. Very nice attempt.

These skimmers must be the corporate executives Elizabeth. Such a shot. Rather Hitchcockian. Very nice capture and I don't recall seeing this bird before.

I dont see how they keep from knocking each outher out of the air. They are so many and so close. This is the first time for me seeing this bird as well. You did a really great job of capturing so many. The shot is clear and colorful.

Birds of feather, flock together. Wonder if a similar phrase would evolve on Caedes? "Photographers posting, the world hosting?"

That's a fascinating effect, the softness of it bothers me but someone else might see that as an attractive quality. I love the patterns in this, maybe I'll download it and make it even more abstract so the softness stops bothering me. :)) Yeah, I'm gonna play with it. Nice one Elizabeth.

I probably would have dropped the camera if I had seen them take off like that all of a sudden. You did a good job getting this shot. Nice work.
