Bennett Bayou, after a deluge. After much rain and even more from north that is still trickling down. Calmer now, it has been surreal to see actual waves in the rivers. The clump of weeds and black spot, which is a post, show where the bayou would normally start. I was standing on a gazebo since there is an alligator in there.

Absolutely beautiful, I love the colors and the black of the trees, the shadows. Great work.

You sure get some real moody shots of your beloved Bayou Elizabeth. The tones are always so well managed. The golden light and the silhouettes stirs up echoes of natures' noises.
Great post.

I swear your shots are so good I thought I heard a frog croak. LOL. All kidding aside I have always loved the bayou. You have captured the mysterousness of it really well. Great colors as usual and the tones are perfect.

Beautiful gold and it looks pretty tranquil now. Guess you wouldn't want to step in the water even for a quick shot. You did a great job with this. Love the reflections also.

You post such beautiful sunsets. I like the golden ones especially as here with the varied shapes of silhuettes to view.
It is too bad that you can't send some of the deluge to Ed over in Florida.

'Gasps'. Simply beautiful. I love the gold overtones of this one, Elizabeth. A bayou is one of my favorite photographic subjects.

Excellent foreground treatment and composition...you really can get the definition you want from your camera. Now where is that alligator? When you approach a place like this, do you first check the path, then the Gazebo, and then ... ? I'd be terrified, I think. Especially in low light.

Interesting one this the way you've got more of the water in the picture, which works really well because of the great reflections in the water. Love the golden tone to this one too.
