I'm glad he was over there and you were across the water. I hope you were using a telescope at maximum power, thrust between the openings of a chain-link fence! Interesting silvery color on this puppy-eater...is this normal for this time of year? Nice limited color range...ties it all into a pleasing composition.
This Image GRABBED my EYE. That's Why I Stopped By.
Thanks For Sharing ! Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience
Great post of this friendly looking killer Elizabeth. Think one must have some courage to capture this 'friend' in open nature.
Would already have some fear in a Zoo, lol.
Regards, Cornelius.
Glad your on the other side..because looks like he is thinking about lunch. Super close-up...close enough for me. Great job again. When your ready to teach...I'm all ears.
How do you know there aren't any gators roaming around on your side of the water? Or...are you in the truck? A drive by shooting would be the best way to get a shot like this....at least in my opinion. LOL. Nice, Elizabeth.
I love this photo of this "king of the bayous"...it's pretty perfect, showing him and the grasses and the water. But look at that smirky smile on his face! YIKE!! Did you just throw him something yummy??!! I admire this photo and your taking it, but please don't have too much fun with this guy. And don't go visiting him when he's gettin' too close to ya. Thx..Verena
This creature seems to come from the Prehistoric age! I love the way he "crutches" the ground, ready to jump at ya with is lethal jaw wide open! "brrrrr ça fout les jetons". The light is so cool on him with the giant grass on the back. And let me finish with this poor pun, I am sure you didn't sing that Marylin song to this gator : "I wanna be love bayou...".
