After much rain recently the sandy roadside has many tide pools full of water, fish and birds. A Tricolored Heron floating.

Very nice is this bird wadeing all swimming if it.s swimming it is a first for me.

I do believe this is the first heron I've ever seen that is not standing. Very nice shot, Elizabeth.

A fantastic capture Elizabeth, I've seen hundreds of these Herons and never seen one floating. Maybe it has something to do with getting eaten by one of the gators. Excellent detail and clarity in this beauty. Nice work, Saved

I think this is my favorite Heron shot of all Elizabeth. I didn't know they could swim. I thought all they did was eat.
The colors of the bird and the water are so glowing in the sunlight. Great post.

I'm with Ron...This is my favorite of them all. The waterlooks like siver liquid and the heron floats just perfectly on top. 10 in my book and faved.

Great definition as always and the colors all work so well. I am taken by the multi-surfaced and very reflective water compared to the softness and depth of the heron's feathers. The orange on his throat also is complemented by the orange reflections in the water.
