The other blue heron, watching and waiting by the fisherman. Windy and cool, strange for late May. He was less colorful, so maybe a juvenile?

I like the colors, the contrast of the gray bird and the blue water and light colored sand does it for me. Interesting little shadow too.

I love the color of that water, and the white sand. Herons look great no what matter the color. They are such a handsome bird, the way they are built. Excellent picture, Elizabeth.

He does remind me a bit of James Dean in "Rebel Without a Cause," so yes I would say he is a delinquent. Plus he hasn't filed his taxes.
I really like the grays and blues in this one Elizabeth. Such a confident solitary figure it makes. Great post.

He seems to be posing for you...knowing he's beautiful and young and free. :) Nice clarity!

Very nice lighting and colors here, Elizabeth. Perhaps Mr. (Ms?) Heron is a bit too centered in the frame.. maybe if he (or she) were a bit more to the right..? Hey, that's where negative space comes into play, by gosh! ;-)

Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.

Good compostion, and I like the detail! I do agree with third_eye about him being too centred though. But a lovely capture none the less. Lyn.

I think this bird isn't to much centered.. the bird is the most interesting subject and part of this photo and the white sand isn't (although beautiful and white sand). Great choise for me! And again the quality is super.. Mich
