Can this imagine be saved? I was walking beside the many floating docks along Bayou St John. Many birds and many critters in the water... While I was focused on another bird, a pair of doves flew down along the docks. Sadly too close, it's head and tail are clipped off. I got several more after I recovered but I still like this one most with his fluffed feathers and pose. Any recommendations for improving this image?

He's so cute and fluffy. Not sure how to improve on it but it is a sweet shot.

Excellent capture and I love your title. Reminded me of Otis Redding;

Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah

I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

Everything looks good Elizabeth except for hitting his head on the top of the pic. Is your mourning dove cooing to you?

Copy and paste the top of his head from another of your shots then blend it all together. You wouldn't need much. It is a beautiful shot the way it is in my mind. The doves are so flighty. Nice capture E~.

I was going to suggest something like what gizmo1 has suggested. I like the quality of the shot.

Beautiful dove. I think Tick is on the right track. You could put a black or color of the background frame and then clone some feathers over the edge to make him look OOB, but not sure how else you mean to improve it.

I can understand why you prefer this photograph the most Liz, this Dove does have a lot of appeal. As for any professional improvements there's little that can be done in my opinion as the bird is too tightly framed.

Some nice suggestions have been made for making "good" even better. You have a fine shot for starters. Save the PS for a rainy day. Nice capture, Elizabeth!

What a great close up. Would have been better maybe to have the whole bird enclosed. But nice shot anyway.

First, I'd fix the "hemmed in feeling" by (1) Putting a narrow red frome around the INSIDE, closing him in even more by just a bit, mb 1-2 inches...followed by a larger cream-colored frame to the edge of the picture, followed by another cream-colored frame on the whole outside. Now he has room to "move", so to speak. Then I'd clone back the parts you chopped off with your inside frames from a copy of your original pic, and, finally, I'd clone the top of his head and the rest of the tail from another pic. I'd make ALL the clonings "violate" (go over the top of) whatever frame they would go over. Might be a fun project. Very nice pic.

Clipped head and tail or not...this is still a beautiful image. Loving the colors and "fluffiness. Wish I could help on the improvement, but I like it the way it is.....but that's not much coming from me.

I think it´s a very cute capture even if the head and tail are clipped. The details are very good and so are the colors. Very nice!
