"Time goes by at the speed of life
Slower than a slow dance on a hot summer night
Faster than the skin breaks on the edge of a knife
And we just go on at the speed of life"
Excerpt from "Speed Of Life" Jude Cole
Where's the "Bah-Bum, Bah-Bum, Bah-Bum-Bah-Bum?" And the girl running to go skinny dipping? And the Great White? All kidding aside, Elizabeth, this is excellent. It takes me back to beaches in California with that great expanse of sky and clouds and the ocean taking up the other half of the scene, while the dunes just keep rolling. Even though we see only a sliver of the ocean in your photo, it's presence is as strong as the sky. I like the way those grasses follow along the sand-fence like gawkers at a race-track, and that tiny slice of boardwalk on the far left bottom anchors me to our man-made reality, and gives my eye a place to go, outside the viewfinder, wondering what's out that way. Into my favorites and thank you.
The first rule is: Remove the lens cap!
The second rule is: Always take a litter bag in your car - if it get full, you can just throw it out the window.
Liz, I really like the soft blues, greens, and browns. It is such a relaxing picture, makes one want to remove their shoes and socks and stroll down to the coast and walk in the water and sand.
Now THIS is one of my kind of scenes! In the sense that I love old weathered fences like this at the beach. I see them pretty often here at the Pacific too. I love this soft photo of yours.
The colours and the drama are perfect. Thanx so much. Verena
I can feel a breeze watching this photo. This photo has it for me. Such lovely warm and natural colours.. and so well composed too! looks great on my screen : ) Mich
We use fences like that around here to divert the snow in the winter when the wind howls and the snow drifts. I suspect it works with sand as well. I like how it has weathered.
A great view out to sea E~. The coast is calm and beautiful today, but we all know it can rear its ugly head at any time.
Nice work.
Elizabeth - This is beautiful - the composition is wonderful, with soft colors that make this so pleasing to view. A quintessential dunes and beach scene! Thad
