Too often, because of the strong contrast between the intense light of a sunset and the surrounding sky and clouds, anything around the light source burns away, leaving just a bright spot with no definition. That's not the case here, Elizabeth, your settings were perfect. A beautiful entry for the contest. Good luck.
The first rule is: Remove the lens cap!
The second rule is: Always take a litter bag in your car - if it gets full, you can just throw it out the window.
The third rule is: Never pet a barking chicken.
I love the subtle colors you caught... Who says a sunset has to be bold and brassy? the sky here is so quiet and lovely... a perfect ending to the day.

And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."
I'm surprised this wasn't an immediate post! I love what the upper atmosphere is doing to the clouds and the range in intensity is wonderful. A very fine addition to your beautiful sunsets.
This Image GRABBED my EYE. That's Why I Stopped By.

Just saw this in the Featured Images and had to comment. This is absolutely breathtaking Elizabeth. Love that sky and the reflections are great. Just a very soft, peaceful shot.
Neil Diamond surely had this in mind when he wrote the words "Lost on a painted sky where the clouds are hung for the poet's eye." This is a photographic masterpiece.
