From a very narrow road that runs between marshes to the airport on Dauphin Island, AL. In 1979 Hurricane Frederick destroyed the original bridge that connects the island to the mainland. Reopened in 1982 it carries a 3-mile (4.8 km), two-lane section of Alabama State Route 193 from mainland Mobile County, Alabama across the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway to Dauphin Island. The natural channel followed by the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway at this location is Pass Aux Herons.

Your marshlands are so beautiful Elizabeth. I do like the bridge in the distance but the colorful grasses and the sky steal the show.

Can see the bridge in the distance Elizabeth. Love this very fine composition. The by the marshlands created atmosphere in combination with the subtle toned sky add a lot to it.
Regards, Cornelius.

I really like the DOF in this one E~. My eyes enjoyed the journey to the bridge and beyond. Very nicely balanced. Colors are great without being overwhelming. Wonderful post.

Been across that bridge many times...and what a beautiful drive it is. Love the perspective on this. I feel like I'm in the untouched world looking out a window into the concrete jungle.

A most gentle and pastel photo. I was in that area many years ago when living in Louisiana. It's so pretty there. And you captured this so perfectly. Verena

Fantastic image, I like what you did with the sky and how the bridge looks tiny compared to everything in nature. And nice quality, too!

Brilliant control here! This MUST go full screen to see it. The bridge and the marsh are so very detailed. They do not need to take up more than 1/3rd of the screen because the entire place is defined by water...water below and in the distance and water in the clouds above. Without those water-bearing clouds nothing here would be the same. Love it!
