Hey there! Oh this is so sweet. I know they have a beautiful song as well. That is one of the many things I miss from living in Louisiana...the many wonderful birds. This is an outstanding photo! He looks so pretty sitting all snug like that. Thank you so much for a lovely bird. Verena

Very nice capture. I saw one far up in a tree one time and thought it was a Cardinal, but a birder with a scope showed me it wasn't. Pretty looking bird.

I would have mistaken it for a Cardinal. I thought the Scarlet Tanager's had black wings. This one must be a juvenile. :) What a beautiful shot E~.

Where I live, there are no red colored birds what so ever.....well, I have never seen one - only ones with like red breasts.

This is a beautiful shot indeed....the background color with the vibrant green leaves and red - really stunning. It is my desktop photo as we speak.

A tad grainy, but none the less a good solid capture.
How fun to capture a beautiful Tanager.

Ditto Paul's comment, but the softness would also create a very peaceful wallpaper. The angle with which you captured him, under the leaves and away from the strong light, intimates privacy for both the bird and us viewing him, as though he were sharing a secret place with us. Good shot, Elizabeth.
