I wish I could have got closer to the pod of Pelicans I just photographed E~. This is positively outstanding.
The clarity is so good it makes the textures pop.

Gotta say the plumage on these fellas is so much more interesting than the ones we get in Oz.

I agree, the clarity is outstanding. Is he landing or taking off? I think he is aware of you.

I love pelicans.... they are amusing, busy and have an air of knowing something no-one else knows. (I always wonder what it is). Wonderfully clear shot and in a somewhat unusual pose. Very nice!

Either this guy is used to people or you've got an excellent long-range lens. Whatever the case, it's another great bird shot to add to your collection. I agree with Sharon in that it's not the run-of-the-mill pelican photo, a seemingly posed shot, but one that shows the bird in real life. Does NG know about you? :D

I was immediately drawn by that big beady eye. But everything else about this shot is brilliant too!

So different to my pelicans, which I see every day. They always gather at the boat ramp near my home to scavenge the leftovers from fisherman or ride the thermals on the hill behind my house - different colours - same beautiful birds!
