Of note in the above linked tutorial, is a suggested method for controlling the amount of blur ... via masking techniques.
Perhaps, and in my humble opinion of course, something that might work with your image here in mind. That of increasing the delineation of the horse ... some.
That said ... nice work.
And but of course, thank you for sharing this most colourful and intriguingly composed work with us. Has a very nice illustrative look and feel to it that I do enjoy. :o)
