“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.”
“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
Here's my take on this Emily. The colors, shading and shadows are excellent! I'm not to much into the 'blood sucking' type of portrayals but this really is good. The only other 'short' as I would call it is that her lips have no definition, they're just black.....or dark gray if you will. Otherwise very nice:)
Great work !
I like the mysterious and creepy athmosphere in this one. But her (or Your) seductive look gives this Picture a special essence. The only thing I would do is lighten up the view to the outside from the window. But the Eyecatcher definitely is the beautiful women ;)
Hi Emily, I looked at the image with your question in my mind and this is what I saw, or maybe imagined. :) It might be the use of the space that disquiets you. If you look at the negative space rather than at the subject, what I see is a long thick rectangle of black on the right edge and a long thick rectangle of black on the bottom edge, very square feeling. Whereas, the pointy elbow breaks into the left edge and the pointy knees break up into the top edge. Additionally the placement of the window (Lovely understated element by the way.) adds to this "problem" as it's position is also quite square in relation to the subject. A different crop, or maybe simply moving the window so it's much further to the right? I thought maybe if there was a long trail of dark shimmering hair flowing down to the bottom right corner, that also might break up the thing I'm seeing. Assuming it exists at all. :) Or if the right hand was extended behind the head towards the right edge. Your ps work is great, (Gimp Addict myself.) though the shadow edges in a few spots do look photoshopped rather than natural, perhaps mostly along the underside of the arm? I think it's a fantastic job, great conception and very well carried thru. The restraint, just the tiniest hint of blood, is commendable and the undertone of sensuality is in keeping with the general tone of vampire/dracula iconography. It's great to see some creative space being opened up here with this kind of creativity and groove.
Peace.

[Or based on my age] Looks like Ozzy popped by for a bite.
