Again from my trip home to Clinton, IA. The amazing Mississippi River in all of it's glory at the Eagle Point Park look out. This area is actually the widest part of the Mississippi River channel measuring nearly 3 miles wide. Let me know what you think. (my fav. thing about this photo is the knob on the machine that says "turn to clear image". It makes me chuckle because I take it quite literally. ;p

Again a marvellous sky, Antonia. And really fascinating details on the telescope.

A great photo of the machine - we will have to take for granted your description of the river.

i love your lighting in this picture and the sky is amazing. i wish you depth of field could be a little more clear. either by making the background also in focus or just the the foreground in focus. i think it would of also have been interesting to see maybe just the background in crystal clear focus and the foreground blurred. especially with the "turn to clear vision", you could of played with the focus on the image for more of a meaning. but overall the image has good color quality and the composition is laid out very well. the depth in your picture is really interesting and very beautiful. =]

I get a two for the price of one feel from your photo. Very nice shot of the telescope with an excellent landscape of the Mississippi in the background. And you just can't beat a lovely blue sky with fluffy white clouds. Question: On the left of the photo where the greenery meets the river bank, what are those light colored smudges?
