This picture was taken from Coronado Beach in San Diego, California. These little plants ran for about a mile along the sidewalk, separating the beach from the town. The weather was perfect, although the water was a little cold...

what a super photo
the perspective initially fools us into thinking they are huge trees
but they are tiny plants
great desert scene with a spectacular sky

well done and such a clever idea

This plant is called ice plant (Carpobrotus) and grows on dry sandy soil with very little water. From time to time it has bright pink or yellow daisy-like flowers. Your photo is beautifully done from an unusual perspective and really emphasizes the texture of these hardy succulents. The inclusion of the very exciting sky adds a great deal of interest as well.

Taken at a terrific angle and very pleasing full screen. It's an iceplant and it does grow almost anywhere and has the prettiest little flowers at certain times of the year. It's a wonderufl capture and I'm so glad you shared it.

Super picture with a great sky. We used to have those plants in our yard. If you leave them be they will try and take over. Good fill for a place where nothing else wanted to grow

Well now I can hear that song (*We are Family* playing in my head :) I like the angle of this shot. Well composed and clear - good texture display with all the gritty sand. Warm sunlight throwing shadows on the two plants in the foreground. Those are hardy looking plants & they are all family :) Lovely sky with the trails of clouds :*>

I really like the detail, and the spiraling clouds are an awesome aspect to the shot.
Well done.

There's a little secret about these plants...an aerial view of all of the iceplant spells out Coronado. :)
