I was asked to give a comment on this picture, but before my reaction a few words in advance.
Although, being a professional photographer for 37 years specialised in advertising, I realize I'm still a novice as a member here at Caedes.
I understand that most pictures here at Caedes are taken by amateurs so I realize they can not be judged on a professional level, but.... it strikes me that most comments from other members are usually (if not always), expressed in terms as "good, fantastic, well-done, etc", although many pictures I see here at Caedes are not "as good" as the comments want me to believe.
I understand that in most cases the reason for this is well-intentioned but therefor also meaningless.
It is my believe that any comment should be honest and not out off politeness and therefor by definition complimentary, a comment should be fair and if necessary also with criticism or even destructive if this will help the maker (maybe) in making better pictures.
So any comment I'm asked to give will be, taking into account that a picture is taken by an amateur, still be honest. I am aware that my kind of comment will not leave me many friends.
As for this picture, I’m almost sorry to say but: “rubbish”.
Unusefull use of Photoshop (or whatever was used for manipulation), it’s nothing more than Photoshop-button-”creativity” and probably no good picture to start from. Even manupulation did the picture any good so...
(don’t be disappointed it’s only a one-man’s opnion)
Personally, this is not a creation I care much for. It's all too blurry, not sharp enough, and the green and red seem to clash. I know everyone has a different opinion, but that's how we all learn here in caedes. To be able to say what we think and to comment, but most of all to be honest in doing a critique.Verena
