Have you tried inverting and desaturating it? gives it a pencil drawn effect.

It's hard to look at, there are so many other lines around the cats.

This is an interesting picture. Its different. I seem to want to look and focus on something other then the cat. The picture is a bit too busy for me to stay focused on.
