A planet suffering from the effect of burning gasses emitted from a Dying Sun. The gas/flare effect is a fractal (should keep Les happy) from Apo. Other than that it's all created in Photoshop.

I know you are awaiting accolades from your fellow fractalists, but in the meantime...well done from a fellow PS geek.

Only one fractal?

You slacking on the job or what?

:oD

So kidding Paul.

First, my apologies as I had seen your image here before and I had thought I had commented. As your narrative did give me a laugh at that time ... and still does, lol.

Yeah, I know ... pesky is my middle name at times.

Ok, then ... let's carry on, shall we?

Nice work in Photoshop indeed. Really like the gas field, taking the term from the above posting. Not that familiar with the terms used, however I have seen a number of NASA images and this is quite good.

The fractal employed fits well.

Just not too sure about the cross screen star effect on the other stars/planet though. Little too dominant to my eyes and in my very humble opinion, in the overall composition.

Might still work as you have it, if you introduced some other luminant light sources ... more prominent distant stars, perhaps? Notably in the darker areas; the bottom right, mid-upper and then the left regions?

Just a thought to bring, as I see it ... some additional balance to the elements of light.

Nice colourations. Very reminiscent of the story being told by your piece here.

Going to have to explain the placement of the sun/fractal though. Not sure about that. Maybe go wide screen, keeping the placement as is ... but, creating some space for your sun to the right?

Artistic licence? Well now, you got me curious ... given your upload rez ... did you crop this one at all? And forgive me these questions, I am curious that's all.

Ehh ... gone did it again, and wrote you a novel here. :o|

Would love to see you work this one some more, or another in a similar vein. These images fascinate me, both digitally created and real ... one can get lost in the image for one, and then taking the bigger bigger picture ... instill awe with the thought that planets are dying out ... emerging ... as we go on about our days.

Of course ... had you put two ... two fractals in here, like you usually do ... you would not have had so much to read here. So, in a sense ... it's all your fault. :oP

Kidding, kidding.

Interesting work, and I mean that sincerely. A few tweaks and ...

:o)
