I'm proud to say that distant cousin Gen. McClellan fought here. Let me know you think. Took this on another rainy day. If you like, I can post more photos from different areas of the battlefields. I've always liked visiting historic battlefields like this...its like stepping back in time. Really nice shot..lot's of great atmosphere.

Adrienne - Perhaps it was fitting to have a rainy day while visiting the US Civil War's bloodiest battle site. It is hard to imagine that such a beautiful, pastoral locale was where such mayhem occurred. Also difficult to conceive is how the Washington DC elite rode their carriages, packed with picnics, out to the area so as to view the ensuing battle. Your photo is very nice - the rain gives a soft feel to the scene. Well done! Thad
