Nice shot of the little fella. In Missouri the beaks are much longer, this must be a youg one.

Hey Pal. Great shot of one of these illusive birds. I had a gentle debate with someone recently who was convinced they were Blue Herrings. I won as Herrings have fewer feathers.

Nice 'shot in the wild' my friend! We have the Bloo Herons up here too. They fly across our land at the back of the house,and wow, they are so gorgeous to see in flight...thank you for posting a lovely photo here..Miss ya!! Verena
