These are girders holding up the bridge across the Tennessee River in Decatur Alabama. I took the shot while driving along the Old River Road. The have interesting shapes I think at this straight on shot.
Really good shot Frank. You did a great job with the composition, making the most of the lines - even the shadow in the foreground is cooperating. The rust adds great texture and interest to the whole shot. And the end of the image with the rectangle opening which aligns with the vertical girders is like a period on the end of a sentence. Excellent. anne :-)
I love the designs created by these girders. Now that's a photographers eye, when you can capture such beauty beneath an old, weathered bridge. Did you modify the colors at all? I like the yellowish-green.

Being a structural engineer and obsessive-compulsive, what you have there is columns and bracing. And, being a structural engineer, I like the picture. Great shot! :-)

A marvellous tribute to man's industrial mastery. The center of attention is the perspective of the steel work - the angles and geometry also make this a good tribute to mathematics!! Well done indeed.
This one came up on the Featured Images page. It may be old and a bit washed but I really enjoy photos that are composed of descending shapes and a vanishing point, like this one. I've taken a few of them myself.
