This is a picture of the old Cades Cove Missionary Baptist Church. It was established in 1839 serving the community for over 130 years except during the Civil War due to divided loyalties. It is located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Forest. It is one of the old treasures of the past that has been preserved so that generations to come can see part of our old history.

This church represents the history of our nation and you have presented us with a beautiful image. I see that the church has been carefully maintained and cared for - it's a national treasure - also, I see a small burial plot on the right - be interesting to take a look at the markers because of the history. Nice shot Frank, thanks for sharing this image with us.

The church is in great shape and your photo does her justice, Frank. I can almost hear the hymns being sung (mostly off-key). Gee, if they add one more letter "e" in Cades, we'd have our very own church.
