This photo was taken at the Russell Rd Quarry in Whangarei, NZ. The butterflys were just sitting there on the flowers without flying away so I ran and grabbed my camera to get a pic.
What a beautiful capture Nick. The color of the flower accentuates the beauty of the butterfly. The softly muted background is perfect. Good job. Good color,, quality and clarity and composition. Good eye for a good shot. Thanks for posting :~)
Yes, it's beautiful, and yes, you have an exceptionally good eye for color and angle and lighting and everything. I enjoy these "profile" shots of butterflies. Thank you.
This is gorgeous Nick! We get these kind of butterflies in South Africa too, I don't know what they're called though. This is an excellent shot its not easy to get a close up of an insect! Well done:-)
This is a Monarch Butterfly. You would probably have them in South Africa they are pretty common. I just wish I got a pic of them a few months ago because their colours were brighter and they were in better condition. Now there are only a few of them still flying around but they seem to be less worried about people now though.
This is such a beautiful and elegant capture...fabulous! Colors are so rich and the subdued lighting is perfect! High marks all the way for this masterpiece!
Great capture! A rare find and a beauty indeed. I love the profile look, and the color of the flower is such a nice contrast to the butterfly color. Great job!
wow-- the butterfly is captured as the incredibly fragile insect it is and the colors are so remarkable that the butterfly appears to be made of stained glass!! Excellent pic!
