This schoolbell is in front of the old Katy school which was shut down in 1968. I guess I posted this one to remember simpler times when schools did not have metal detectors or guns. We still had a mourning prayer and the pledge of alligance and no child even dreamed of taking the life of another. We were innocent as children should be.

Yeah...I could remember the teacher saying, "I want your undivided attention..."

Yeah, right...Nowadays...it's, "What did you say, Miss Jones?...I'm sorry, I had my iPod on..."(SHEESH!)

Gosh Billy you are so right about simpler times. The school where my son goes to has a full time deputy. They have to meet at 7:30 a.m. at the flag pole to pray and say the pledge of allegiance. Not many show up for that:(

I always said to my children: "The 'good old times' don't exist." Have nowadays my doubts whether this was a good saying or not. Have to agree with your wise narrative Billy, which caused that my doubts are intensified now, but we have to accept the reality as it is now. Thanks for an excellent and appropriate image.
