I am sorry to report that today we had to put poor Sawyer to sleep. At 19 his mind was as sharp as a tack. But I am afraid his body was telling him it was time to go and we would not let him suffer. I know that when I get to heaven he will be on his hind legs just like he is here wanting a honeybun. Thankyou all for the support and prayers.

Oh man Billy........I'm just as sorry as I can be. It's such a tough thing to let a little furry friend of many years go.....I know that myself. Sawyer's runnin' free now and doesn't have an ache or pain in his whole body. Ya done the right thing but it's almost the hardest decision you can make. His spirit lives on and always will.........I truly and firmly believe that too. Again Billy......from the bottom of my big O' Lion heart...I'm soo sorry. John +fav

Billy sorry to hear about Sawyer I have a dog myself and dread the day of his passing the joy we may receive from our four legged friends is underestimated by those who have no pets.

They truly are friends for life.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

My Icon is a salute to a very good friend of mine and I'm dangerously close to having this heartache again with another. Our only comfort is that they were fortunate to have us as their friend and had the fullest, happiest life they could have. My wish for you is that in time you begin again because you obviously have a tallent for cultivating great friendship and a long life.

Not gonna say I'm sorry, just gonna echo Stevenn120. Sawyer's there, at the Rainbow Bridge, waiting, having fun with my old dogs and all the others, being just fine. Missing you guys for sure, but happy to wait for the reunion day. :)
