my attempt in creating a fairly traditional fruit scene, still life but was trying to use my imagination to supplant reality. then everything went up hill. i like my sky.
Nice bright, bold features to your painting. I also like the angle of the photo. You do think outside the box even with the most innocent subjects. I like the curtains and the wall paper and the fruit best.

So much symbolism scattered throughout this B16. A fallen cross with the red, white and blue behind it. I see some blood in form of the apple and tie. I must be in a downer of a mood today. The yellow shows emotion in my mind.
The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
So that's the colour of the sky in your world. I see happy penguins dancing through it, so it can't be that bad. A nice still life though it is missing the traditional pear often seen in such paintings. Good work on your painting and an interesting presentation.

Well I think I saw the penguins Wendell suggested. Admittedly, there are bright colors. However, next time you might want to use fresh fruit for your models as these give the appearance of a molding apple, a yellow- brown something-or-other and more unknowns. You might want to paint the (wooden cup?) a different shade to distinguish it from the exposed table. A splendid attempt filled with possibilities
Thanks, first attempt of drawing fruit (I probably should have looked at some fruit while painting/unwise -no models), just drew from my mind, my mind apparently makes yellow brown somethings.

I see grapes and bananas, and an orange, and an apple. I see them becoming ripe while sitting on the table enjoying the effects of the sun light coming in the window. I see a red bow and can only imagine the gift it once rested on. The sun is rising, the morning is moving on, a day is coming.
accurate and well put as usual casechaser, although this is night but then again there is a sun (apparently didn't care about making sense with the sky)

Emily I do like the sky that is seen through the windows being that it is night the inside is well lit to see these ripening fruit so well. I like the thickness of the paint you applied. Very well done! Paul
