in one of my first postings, sunflower with a little something special, i was asked to enlarge the photo. so, a million days later i came across the idea, the issue is the loss of definition when i tried to reshoot (i do not know how to shoot pictures, not even touching on this subject). i found shooting this painting at an angle gave the best view of what i actually drew and what the canvas looks like; there are red paints on the sides and all other sorts of colors, some edges with paint hanging off of them. . . anyhow hope this is interesting and not just a floating flower canvas

I do prefer this perspective, and the additional sunflower yellow that's been added. There simply appears to be more going on here.
More dynamic.

Emily, you call it a floating flower canvas, but, strangely, it reminded me of Jor-el’s prison dimension, the Phantom Zone.

Like the flower in your picture, Jor-el’s prisoners were trapped in this floating glass pane, never to age, never to die, able to see out to the world beyond, but unable to do anything else but watch.

You flower is also trapped. Here on this canvas. It watches us. It evaluates us. It touches us with the sight of just being. As we do all this with it.

What works well for you is all that is important. Angles will not create a better painting. The trouble starts with the type of painting you are trying to show. Pallets and large brush paintings are not photo friendly. Only by expermentation on your part will you be able to find the answer. I found on pallets the best show is a small picture. But again what works for me may not work for you. You are a good artist and it's all in your perception, Emily.

Has it been a million days, time does fly as they say. An interesting angle for your photo and presentation of the painting. Good clarity in your photo, it brings out some of the details in the brush/knife strokes. Good work and thanks for sharing.
