Below the Donauturm the 60 acres wide meadow is located, where on September 11, 1983 about 300.000 catholics came together to celebrate a mass with pope John Paul II. Today a big steel cross reminds of this event.

Wow, thats alot of people in one place! And a nice reminder of his visit! I saw the current pope when i was in rome last year in st peters square, a very strange experience indeed!
A very impressive structure. With the sun shining on it it looks like brass. I am puzzled by all the wires - are they part of the whole?
It is difficult to imagine 300,000 people all in one place, an amazing event.
