Below the Donauturm the 60 acres wide meadow is located, where on September 11, 1983 about 300.000 catholics came together to celebrate a mass with pope John Paul II. Today a big steel cross reminds of this event.

Very interesting. Is this all that's there? It seems like it would look rather out of place with its surroundings.

A very impressive structure. With the sun shining on it it looks like brass. I am puzzled by all the wires - are they part of the whole?
It is difficult to imagine 300,000 people all in one place, an amazing event.
