Wow Chris. This is fabulous and I like the way there are some pretty old buildings and some ultra modern architecture. Very nicely composed and presented. Thanks.

After a bit of an absence, partly vacation but mostly tax season...busy for bookkeeping businesses... I'm glad to be back out here with at least 'some' regularity. I've missed everyone and am glad to have a little more time again.

Chris, I think it's a matter of taste, but to me the old and beautiful city of Graz is spoiled by this modern architecture. To me it's an example of a bad integration of modern archtitecture in an old fashioned vicinity. It clashes with the surrounding. You have to notice that this doesn't say anything about the quality of your image. To me you've captured the subject very well. Regards, Cornelius

What a wonderfull spot you have found to take this picture from !
All the houses look so nice from this hight, lots of them have a orange roof, but they all seem to have a different color orange in this light and shadows.
The Kunsthaus looks to be great fun with this roof !! what a sight from here.
I followed the link to the artificial island, but i like it much more in your image.
Overall a great image.

I have to say Chris that the Kunsthaus must be one of the ugliest buildings I have ever seen! Love the old architecture and the red roofs and I quite like the new building down at the right.

...needless to say though your photograph is a wonderful example of old and new and an excellent composition.

Reminds me that a few years ago, they wanted to build some ultra modern buildings in Namur (Belgium), but after a referendum, the inhabitants refused.
They were wrong!
Very nice angle, Chris :-)

Excellent presentation of this lovely city. This looks like a painting - or a little fantasy miniature city. I know progress is important and change will happen, but I like the feel of the older city. The modern items look awkward and a bit intrusive. But this is a clear well composed image that you can be proud of. I love all the vibrant colours too. Thanks Chris, for sharing Graz and the links :^)
