Very nice, Chris. The textures and colors are terrific here, but I miss the stem :(

Creative and very well done. I love the colors and textures. Also, the black border really adds to the image.

Hey Chris and Sabine ... this is a two-fer ... one; happy holidays to you two. Hope the days are being kind to you both. :o)

Now then ... the 'two-fer' part ... a ... ahem ... few words from me. :oP

I am big fan of incorporating contrasting textures (and colours) in images/pieces. And your offering here is a wonderful example of what draws my eye.

Wasn't sure where to jump in, since my last visit to your galleries ... but, you made my choice easy with this one.

Excellent exposure, detail and clarity of the leaf. Really, really well done on that aspect. You captured the reds beautifully and as I understand it ... not an easy thing to do by no means.

Caveats? Just talking out loud.. er .. typing out loud here?? :oP

Little ... little joke there, however, carrying on ... wondering if maybe an offset placement of your focal subject would provide for some more visual interest? Yeah, I know ... "to center or not to center, that is the question".

For me, I would prefer the latter. And that may obviously just rest with me.

And I am going to go one step further into sticking my foot into my mouth by suggesting ... getting closer and making a companion piece to this one and going full bore ... hey!! bore?? get it?? lol ... sorry :oP ... macro.

I am loving the clarity and colour of the leaf you captured and professing my own artistic sensibilities here. And think it would make for a fantastic abstract image on it's own. Just some thoughts, that's all.

Your framing does indeed work to isolate and focus your viewers' eyes. A nice touch with that element.

Thanks for this look ... it is indeed one that I enjoy. Annnnnd ... once again, happy holidays to you and your wife. :o)
