Once I posted an old gun image which I gave the title 'pointed in the wrong direction'. Although this gun nowadays doesn't pose any longer any threath, seems that this title is valid for your image too Chris. Wonderful image!

nice shot Chris! You did well to get the background so sharply in focus! I have tried these shots in the past - at Edinburgh castle and they did not work - all a learning process - I found using one focus point worked best.

Very smart shot; I admire your good eye in turning what could end up as an ordinary picture into a curious, stimulating picture: I'm not patronizing or exaggerating. Looking at your picture gave me an immediate feeling of satisfaction and joy. I wondered why? I delved into my own soul and I think I got the answer: one imagines himself/herself in that same position behind the canon; you're in control and at the same time hidden from the city! Sounds sinster, I know! Let me stress that I'm no psychopath and the "shooting" obviously would only be the click of the shutter. Yet, we're humans and possess these "hide and have freedom" aspects, too!
A very thought-provoking picture as you can tell! Well done!
Love the perspective looking through the porthole....that gun covered a wide area eh!..
