This is a shot taken on the night of 28th August 2007 when Liverpool was celebrating its 800th anniversary. The fireworks are being set off from the city's Catholic Cathedral which is a dramatic circular building about 40 years old. In the foreground you see the city's brand new stadium built to hold concerts etc. It is so new it hasn't been named yet and hasn't held its first gig. The cranes in the background are part of "The Big Dig". This is huge redevelopment work preparing Liverpool for 2008 when it is European Capital of Culture.

A decent night shot here. I remember we had the city of culture. Good times...pubs open till 3 am and nightclubs till 6 and fortunatly I was young enough to enjoy it. Just wish I could remember more about it.
