This is the sort of shop you don't see very often nowadays. It is on Arthur Street in Montgomery and It stocks everything from tractor parts to cooking utensils and ovens and from garden plants to overalls. Once inside, for my British friends on Caedes, think Four Candles, only bigger. For anybody else please follow the link and see what is regularly voted the funniest TV comedy moment ever. It dates from 1976 and relies on clever use of words and great timing. The shop in my picture looks very like the one in the comedy sketch only bigger.

Funny video...I just wish I understood British and not American!! The written script helped a lot :) This store front reminds me of a permanent flea market over here.....great post..just hilarious!!

This would go well in the latest competion!

Dont let me in there, you wont ever see me again :) I can almost smell the hardware store smell coming through those doors. That sketch is so funny, but I really like Ronny Barker so could be biased. There are not many shops like this around any more sadly.

LOL Steve - I wonder if the two Ronnies had any idea of the status that sketch was going to attain. You did a panorama! And it looks really good. Bob's right it would go well in the current competition. Reminds me of the Ironmongers shop in Tenbury Wells where my family live.

Thanks to all my friends for the wonderful images I get to look at and learn from on Caedes every day. I always have something to say about them, but don't always have the time to record it. Please forgive me if I can't comment on all of your uploads.
