This picture was taken at about 2.30pm on 12th March 2008. There had been a severe gales blowing for over 15 hours and the wind-speed had dropped to 56mph (90kph). This ship had just entered The River Mersey and relative calm!
I like this photo better than "It was Very windy yesterday" just because this is an up close look at the waves which truly shows just how windy it really was! Great Job again!
Let's go surfin' now, everybody's learnin' how....sorry I couldn't help it. Another cool shot of those windswept waters. Dramatic all the way. Even the sky is dramatic.
"Where there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see." ~Dorothea Lange
Wow, look at the turbulance, all that sand being washed up into the whitecaps!! Fantastic colours...and that ship sitting there ever so calm...just amazing. Soooo beautiful even tho it is frightening too. Verena
Do not wait; the time will never be "just right."Start where you are and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.
I am so glad that I am not on that cargo ship! I can only imagine how bad her crossing must have been if this is the calm part lol. Another great wave shot.
This is a river? Looks like the angry sea. Great pic. I love it and it's on my desktop. I wish I could travel more to see this and other beautiful places.
