This is just by Fort Perch Rock, New Brighton at the mouth of The River Mersey on the afternoon of 12th March 2008. There had been severe gales blowing for hours and the wind was now 56mph (90kph). This picture tries to show just how windy it was. All the people at the top left corner of the picture were photographers!!

Great job capturing the wind in this photo! The waves in the backround are huge!

Clean up crew needed. Those waves are still banging away at the shore. If I were there, the theme would be...fall down, get back up, fall down, get back up.. nice capture.

I'd rather be here, than where I'm at!

I recall a Scotsman recently saying on the radio it's just a wee breeze, & when it's blowing a gale in the North of Scotland it's rarely mentioned !! Oh by the way I bet the owners of those wind turbines were a bit concerned lately. :o)

I just hate dirty cutlery !! A mistreated dog should try to leave a deposit on their masters best carpet, after all it's important to establish who's boss ... My gallery is here.

Good use of the railing and I like the woman struggling. This one really conveys the strength of that wind.

Wow, and when that sand is being blown like that, it really hurts the ol' skin!! I've been in winds like that here at the Pacific Ocean. And to think that woman is out in that wind!! I like how you decided to shoot the photo with the curve of that railing. Nicely done, the whole thing. thanx for giving us a view of this windy weather. Verena

Do not wait; the time will never be "just right."Start where you are and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.

Like the way the railing leads you into the picture, and the wind captured here. Great shot Steve.

I like the lines in this one Steve and that sea looks really ferocious in the distance. It is nice to observe people too - the man on the right is obviously enjoying watching the wild sea!
