The sea off New Brighton near the mouth of The River Mersey during the gales on 12th March 2008. The wind at this time was 56mph (90kph) though at its hight the wind had been nearly 80mph (128kph).

Boiling sea hey Steve !! that's handy poach these Haddocks for me please m8t, 6 minutes should do it ;o) .. This won't make a seaside postcard, but's an important photograph just the same.
I like this one a lot, there's something menacing in the light and a good texture to the waves. It might have been good to include a bit more of the foreground on the left, but it certainly shows just how windy it's been.
