This is the Brazilian 'Cisne Branco', a 249-foot tall three-masted ship with Rio de Janeiro as homeport and serving the Brazilian navy as a sail training vessel and international representative. She was built in the Netherlands by Damen Shipyard and launched in November 1999. 'Cisne Branco' is a sister ship of the 'Stad Amsterdam' , built by Damen Shipyard as well. 'Cisne Branco' is Portugese for 'white Swan'
Excellent post again Steve.

The book/movie is one of my all time favorites. Laurence Olivier was tremendous. This looks a lot less frightening than the plot of The Boys From Brazil. Colors are beautiful. Another great post in your ship parade. Good work Steve.

A great shot, I like all of the ship pics. The flag on this
one is big enough to use as a sail.
Very good post.

Not a country I'd think of for this kind of sport. I like your tall ships series too and this one's great. That flag does look kind of incongruous doesn't it, I'm so used to seeing it in connection with football! What a beauty of a ship - great shot Steve.

Now I understand what you mean!
Still, it is a beautiful ship.
Did you enjoy your day, watching Parade?
I did!

If you can't find the words, you may as well shoot it...
