This is Sid. I met him last night at a wonderful talk on "The Safe and Sensible Way to Keep Snakes". Sid was the star attraction he is a Burmese Python. He is 11ft (3.4m) long and weighs 5.5 st (78lbs or 34.7kg) and I got to hold him and play with him.

Mrs Braces and I have no intention of keeping snakes but neither of us has ever touched or held a snake in our lives before and thought this would be a great opportunity to tick those boxes. They were smooth, cool, very strong and heavy for their size.

I love the view of the snake. I had got a bit worried it was going to be Sid Snot created by Kenny Everete lol.

I'm still wondering how Timid Toad survived. Good shot and better you and the missus than me with Sid. I'm afraid Hissing Sid would end up like the Headless Horseman.

Big brother's watching you :o) A mistreated dog should try to leave a deposit on their masters best carpet, after all it's important to establish who's boss ... Welcome to the last resort. :o)

Yes, hissing Sid. I don't think I'd have got as close as you did to him. In fact I'm not sure I'd have gone to the talk at all. Well done to you and Delia!!

Sid is absolutely beautiful. They make wonderful pets. I wish more people would learn to understand them and not teach so many children fear of all snakes.
