Details of the interior stonework of Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral. The Cathedral is built of Woolton Sandstone obtained from a quarry in South Liverpool about 5 miles from the Cathedral.

Now have a listen to Giovanni Gabrieli's (1554-1612) Sonata Pian'e Forte. Apart from being a wonderful piece of music it is significant as it is the first piece of music ever written where the composer has indicated how quiet and how loud the music should be played.

I opened a 2nd browser, so I could listen to your music link whilst still commenting on other peoples work. :o)
It amazes just how long it took to complete this grand church, & it's only been open a relatively short time !

Well done m8t

Another great post on the Cathedral Steve. I particularly like how the back lighting shines through on this one. The bricks look so pristine. Excellent post Steve.

Again a much less noisy image - I like the honey tones in the stonework that you've got from taking this in artificial light.

Masterful work. Looks like a painting, and the music certainly puts one in the mood.

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
