One of the many carvings that decorate the interior of Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral.

Some more of Purcell's Music for The Funeral of Queen Mary.

On a personal note, today is the first anniversary of my starting to post regularly on Caedes. I'd like to think that the standard of my photography has improved over this year and this is in no small measure thanks to all of you, my friends, and to your encouragement, advice, hints, tips and criticism over the year. Also just looking at your wonderful pictures over the year has taught me so much. Your words of sympathy after my Brother died in April helped me more than I can adequately say. So thanks to you all.

This angel's looking a bit glum.
I especially like grotesques, & gargoyles as they were often created with a hidden agenda in mind. :o)
I'm pleased you've found Caedes so helpful, & supportive, so have I. It's a great place to learn, & develop your talent if you pay attention to the signs.

Good indoor flash photograph Steve.

Big brother's watching you :o) A mistreated dog should try to leave a deposit on their masters best carpet, after all it's important to establish who's boss ... Welcome to the last resort. :o)

Nice to hear that you feel you've benefited from Caedes Steve. I know I have too in terms of my photography, and I know I've seen several people receive lots of support in difficult times. Happy Anniversary! It's an interesting shot you got here. My favourite thing in fact is the chisel marks in the column behind. I always find it awe-inspiring that human hands have worked so much stone to produce buildings like this. You got some decent colour here despite the flash, and plenty of detail. Nice work.

Happy anniversary! I love the way you capture the architectural details. I am sure it was not easy and the distance between you and the angel was big. Also, the lights in a church are not really helping. I would love to visit the Liverpool Cathedral, but in the meantime, i can enjoy your photos. Thank you for sharing!

Happy Anniversay Steve and what struck me the most about this photo is the fingerprint look on the left column. It is as if the hand of god has touched it. Excellent post.
