Mrs Braces and I went to Britain's biggest zoo, Chester Zoo yesterday. This is the alpha-male mandrill in the monkey house. This was taken through glass.

Ahhh, now Jan will be envious of this one. She was really keen to see the mandrils at Colchester zoo but they were all at the very back of the enclosure and wouldn't come near us. This one's a fine fellow isn't he? You got the colours in his face really well here Steve, and I know that's not easy after trying last weekend!

What a colourful chap he is, and a very intense stare. Do you hypnotise these animals to sit still while you snap??

He looks a colourful character indeed. I like how you managed to capture his face between the wires. Well done!

hehe nigel is right about me being envious, there is a huge male mandrill at colchester, i love the colours on their faces and the male there is very spectaular, but, alas, he wasnt playing ball and didnt wanna come and say hello at all! never mind, maybe next time!!
