A pair of Swans on the Model Boating Lake on New Brighton Promenade, overlooking the mouth of The River Mersey. There was a third swan trying to swim on this lake but these two wouldn't let it and kept chasing it off.

Now, some music to listen to. Here is the most exquisite 3 minutes of opera taken from, in my opinion, the most perfect of all operas,Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte. It is the Trio from Act 1, "Soave sia il vento".

They must be a pair if they kept chasing the third one away. Very nice image of the swans and thanks for the link too.

They are very pretty looking birds, shame they ganged up on the other guy. They look as though they are keeping an eye out to make sure he/she doesnt come back. Nice shot

Excellent post evetS. The swan may look beautiful but I think they must be bullies. Poor, hungry, third swan. I was never a fan of the opera but you might make me at least enjoy it.

Nice post.

They're so perfectly positioned Steve, and so beautifully white and smooth against the slightly choppy water. What a lovely shot.

A lovely shot - the white is so fresh.
The aria accompanies it well - and also happens to be one of my faves. I was delighted to see slso on the YouTube link Elisabeth Schwarzkopf's version - sublime :)
