On 2nd may 1984 Mrs b and I were attending this, the opening day of The Liverpool International Garden Festival. It was the first to be held in Britain and was built on land recovered from an old land-fill site and factories. We lived a short bus ride away and went practically every night after work for the six months it was open. Luckily, it was a very dry and hot summer that year.

This is a scan of a photograph we took 25 years ago and the handsome, young chap in the background is me.

I was working for a newspaper and listening to the voice of the Great Caruso. Great post and it scanned really good. Lots of dark hair on the boy in the back. You Liver Bird looks a lot like my Cardinal. Thanks for sharing.

I looked up where I was 25 years ago on this day, Steve. I was at the port of Norfolk, Va loading coal for South Africa! Nice garden and quite a good image for a scanned photo not to forget the handsome man shown there!

If practice makes perfect and nobody is perfect, then why practice?

I can't remember that far back. Probably playing golf. Nice scan, Steve.
