I know she's a Saint and I know she's carved in the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral but who is she? She seems to be standing on a goat and holding flames and a salamander to her breast so I guess she died in a nasty way but why the goat?
Edit: Turns out she isn't a saint but the representation of Humility. See Pat's (Icedancer's) comment below.

Steve I haven't got a clue and became an Anglican when I got married. I'll have to do some research on her. Yes I agree, don't know why she is standing over a goat. Great capture and clarity with wonderful detail.

If you don't know then I haven't a clue who she is Caruso. She reminds me of Cleopatra, or what I would think she would look like. A striking beauty. Good link.

I contacted the Cathedral and this is what they said.
I got this reply from our visitor services manager. Not a saint I fear, just a statue.

This is one of the "Vices and Virtues" statues designed by Carter Preston and this particular one is "Humility" and is on the wall outside the Refectory.
