Not a swan but a quietly floating gull. Taken late afternoon yesterday (27th September) on the Model Boating Lake, New Brighton.

It looks like you have desaturated it just a bit Caruso. A nice effect. Don't tell the gull that it is not a swan. Feathers will fly.

I'm thinking there's a theme here... It's not the ugly duckling either, but that's small consolation. I like the desaturation and the way it's made the water inky black.

Yep, that's a brillaint observations Steve, lol. It's really a wonderful capture with such detail and love the reflection in the water. He looks very relaxed taking a break from flying.
