This is Crosby Beach, Merseyside home of Antony Gormley's amazing "Another Place". This consists of 100 cast-iron models of a naked man spread over two miles of beach and all looking out to sea.

This is my entry into the Desolation Competition.

I suppose the naked men will be acting as "mirage" for the lost wanderer :) Good image Steve and good luck!

That has got to be one of the most unusual sights on any beach. Wonderful shot, and certainly a great entry for the contest. Best of luck, Steve.

Steve - An unusual beach view indeed. The wind turbine dwarfs the sailboat out on the water. Did the naked men scare away beach combers? A real nice photo. Thad

Wow Steve! This is an amazing shot! I love the open expanses of the sand and water. And the very unique naked men make it so unusual. It is saved and faved. And it's a winner for the desolation contest in my book!

Can't understand that they never become tired and never are shivering from the cold at this desloated beach, Steve, lol.
Good entry for the contest.
Good luck with it.

A good contest entry Caruso. Nothing more desolate then standing guard while the world keeps on spinning. Excellent capture.

Indeed a very desolate scene! The statues add to that feeling too.

That's the kind of desolation I like Steve, a windswept beach out of season. Nicely done.
