Or, the Dandelion as it is now known. Such a pretty flower, pity it's mostly thought of as a weed.

Yes, they are pretty, but so difficult to get rid of. Nice shot.

Talk about roots. Pulling them out is akin to getting a loan from a Scotsman. They are bearable at this stage but when they turn old and white headed they lose their minds. Not unlike some I know. :) Good post.

The dandelion is not mostly thought of as a weed by me, Steve. It is ENTIRELY thought of as a weed. I hope I don't see any more in my yard this year. They done been sprayed! LOL. Nice image, Steve.

"Also known as Blowball, Cankerwort, Lion's Tooth, Piss-a-bed, Pissenlit, Priest's Crown, Puffball, Swine Snout, White Endive, and Wild Endive."

A dandelion by any other name is still as sweet - just like the rose.
You portray this as a thing of beauty - good post !

Not only a great close-up, but I've learnt about the name, too.
Can't say I've ever seen a lion's teeth up close, but I'm sure they're not that yellow ;~}

ha ha Tick your not wrong about them being a nightmare to pull up. And god forbid that you break the root as then you end up with loads of the blinking things. Very nice upload U Steve. x
