This is a manipulated image of the radio telescope at Jodrell Bank in Cheshire N.W. England.

Jodrell Bank is run by Manchester University and was the largest fully steerable radio telescope in the world for many years (the dish is 250ft (79m) in diameter). It has been, and still is at the forefront of radio astronomy.

This kind of manipulations is what I like most - playing with colours and lights is great fun. The effects are always surprising and often even better than the original images LOL

The manipulation looks great Steve - much better than the straight photo. Anybody out there? Could be, could be but probably on a planet a billion light years away.

I would love to work at a place like that, my brother worked for NASA and I'm so interested in outer space. Magnificent work with this outstanding shot, love it Steve

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Very good. The manipulation gives it an "other worldly" feeling, else it would just be a picture of the famous radio telescope. This subject is fascinating, the downside is that two way communication may take thousands or even millions of years and hence none of us will ever see it.
