This is The Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank, Goostrey, Cheshire in North-west England. In 1955, when it was built, it was the biggest fully-steerable radio telescope in the world. It is still the 3rd biggest even after all this time. It is a wonder to look at as it rises above The Cheshire Plain. It is my entry in the latest competition.

While you are searching heavens, Steve, our Joanie sends her UFO on Earth and look what happens !!! LOL These two images [yours and Joanie's] look quite similar. I knew there was something in it...
Very instructive image, dear Steve.

I've been a backyard astronomer for years and a devotee of images of multiple and overlapping lines since I first discovered I could see and understand books, so this one is ideal in my mind. While it is a bit grainy, probably because of the overcast gray light, it's Lines and Curves we're looking for here and this one is an excellent choice for the contest. I like how the man in the foreground gives one a (false) sense of the scale but a closer examination reveals the windows and levels in that elevated control room (?) on the right gives a more proper scale. That, and following your link and learning the dish is 250' across. Oy! Good luck in the contest. -Nik

Considering how big TV's were back then (valves, vacuum tubes) and how much energy they used, and now you can have a TV on a watch, it makes you wonder if the Jodrell Bank telescope could do the same job with a dustbin lid?
