This is the Mersey ferry Snowdrop. It has been painted to a design by Sir Peter Blake (famous for designing the cover of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band for the Beatles). It was done as part of the commemorations marking the 100th anniversary of the end of world War One. For more details please look HERE.

1. Viewed full size.
2. What a mixture of architectonic styles ...
3. Then the boat makes another addition the style of which escaped me for the moment... Even reading your intro does not bring it back. Hippie of 1960' maybe...
4. Overall effect = stunning.

The boat is so strikingly colourful and attractive with all the different designs. The skyline in the background is sharp and clear Steve. Beautiful shot!

That really is quite a bedazzling sight Steve. Snowdrop looks so jolly, sort of at odds with what the original design was for. I had heard of those dazzle ships but never seen a design in all is bright glory.
A fine capture and it is also nice to see the L'pool skyline unadorned by cranes !

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Seeing the thumbnail at first glance, I thought that this was selective coloring but, upon seeing it full view, I can see that I was wrong. The gray tones really make the colors of the boat pop.

What is nice about this image is that even the architecture alone would have made an interesting shot. The boat provides an unusual contrast with the buildings behind it. Very nice one!
